Trivia of Saigon, CA

- The actor Jimmy "JimmyBoi" Phan's father and aunt are the founding members of Vietnam's most famous rock and roll band, the CBC Band. JimmyBoi himself is a popular rapper hailing from Houston's "Dirty South" hip-hop scene, and has recently cut a single with Sean P of the YoungBloodz.

- The director, 'Mark Tran' (qv), caused a sensation at the 2009 Cinequest Film Festival when he won the Audience Award for Best Feature. Widely considered the most promising filmmaker out of the Bay Area, Mark directed the film at the age of 22 on a shoe-string budget. During the film's premiere at the festival, every showing was sold out with an overcapacity crowd celebrating inside the lobby and outside the theater, forcing the festival directors to call in security.
