- Based on the song by 'Warren Zevon' (qv) and 'Mitch Albom' (qv).

- When 'Kevin Smith (I)' (qv) approached 'Mitch Albom' (qv) about making the film, Albom agreed on two conditions. One, that he would respect the sport of hockey. And two, that he shoot the film in Albom's home state of Michigan. Smith agreed to both.
