Trivia of Endhiran

- 'Aamir Khan' (qv), 'Shahrukh Khan' (qv), 'Kamal Hassan' (qv) and 'Ajith Kumar' (qv) were all approached for the role of Dr Vasigaran/Chitthi.

- This was director 'S. Shankar (I)' (qv)'s dream project, which he had wanted to do since 2001.

- Shooting occured at SIPCOT IT Park, Siruseri, Chennai from 23-27 August. There were more than 30 people dressed and made-up to look like the honorable thalaivar, Rajnikanth.

- The role of Sana was initially offered to 'Preity Zinta' (qv) who turned it down. 'Priyanka Chopra' (qv), 'Deepika Padukone' (qv), 'Asin (I)' (qv), 'Trisha Krishnan' (qv), 'Shriya (I)' (qv), 'Priyamani' (qv), and 'Nayantara (II)' (qv) were then considered for the role before 'Aishwarya Rai' (qv) was eventually chosen.

- 'Amitabh Bachchan' (qv), 'J.D. Chakravarthi' (qv), 'Narayan (I)' (qv) and 'Arjun (II)' (qv) were considered for the role of the villain.

- In July 2007, 'Shahrukh Khan' (qv) was signed on to be the male lead of Chitthi as well as the producer of the film.
